Frequently Asked Questions...
How to best grow fruit organically ?
We bought a house 2 years ago, and recently, I got a great interest in plants and gardening. The previous owners had a little fruit garden, with a few strawberry plants, and one raspberry bush. Last summer, we only got about 6 strawberries from the plants, no raspberries. How do i get a lot of fruit, without chemicals ? I want to grow them organically. There's strawberries, raspberries, and now, a black raspberry plant. I would appreciate any tips, or even webpages greatly. Thanks in advance!
Answer:
Grow fruit organically needs your
patient, tolerant and diplomatic skills.
In my opinon, organic growing means pesticides free and using only natural resources.
Such as rain for water, sun for energy, air for humidity, and compost for fertilisers.
Strawberry plants are much easier to cultivate and care.
You can start learning first from strawberry.
Strawberry plants can be planted with most types of soil.
A well drained light soil will be fine. However, their favourite soil is
dark rich sandy loam. The soil had been used one season before
to grow crops will be the best choice; if you are planning to plant
them in a open ground raised bed garden.
They often request for plenty of sunlight and moist.
When the strawberry plants are setting at the North,
should always be mulched to prevent injury caused by
the hard freeze.
Growing large berries in strawberry fields is possible,
if you clip off all the strawberry runners from the parent plant
once they appear. Keep the rows wide between each plant
will have stronger and vigorous growth.
If you have a big field, you can set rows at least 2.5 foot apart.
If you have a small growing space, set rows one foot apart and
set your plants one foot apart in the row. Make a two feet wide
walkway between every three rows of plants for easy access.
Cover the ground around the root with straws, pine needles,
wheat and oats and weigh them with a little of soil, so that
you will have clean and juicy berries when harvesting.
Harvest strawberries when they are red and glossy.
The best time to harvest should be around 10 am.
I hope it helps!

Top Reasons Why You Must Plant Your Own Vegetables
The concept of living off the land as well as staying totally self sufficient may be beyond the reach of many of us but it is relatively easy to grow some fruit and vegetables for ourselves. The extent to how you can do this will probably depend on how big is your garden and along with a little imagination, you can soon begin to reap the benefits of your efforts. In earlier times, people were more dependent on being able to grow their own produce. These days, most people just drive over to the local supermarket and get anything they desire. Interestingly, more people are beginning to return to some of these traditional values and we will now look at the advantages of growing your own fruit and vegetables.
The big advantage of cultivating your own produce is money savings principally because the world economy is in flux. Sadly, there are circumstances in the world that we cannot control and if this means that food prices increase you just have to accept this with your weekly shopping. But growing your own crops is fairly easy and can have a beneficial impact on your family budget. It really is quite satisfying to know that your food is something you produced yourself and did not cost a whole lot to make it. Interesting garden center site.
In the past few years, you may possibly have been noticing your neighborhood grocery store carrying more and more organic food. There is no doubting the health benefits of having organically grown food. One disadvantage, however, is the expense and if you are on a tight budget it could be that you need to keep your outgoings down. On top of that, you contemplate if the government criteria required to make a product certified organic are sufficient. These complications can be easily overcome by simply raising your own fruits, herbs and vegetables.
As there is now a rising awareness of natural health remedies, so more people are beginning to question what they eat and how fresh their food is. The food we take in should be supplying us with the nutrients we need to live and be healthy. We are all aware of the use by dates that you observe on foods but this has nothing to do with ensuring that we eat food when it is most nutritious. The question we have to ask is how long the food has been stored for before it ends up on the display units in shops. Plus we don't know if produce we see in the supermarket was picked at the peak of freshness or picked in order that it would look fresh by the time it landed at the store. If you grow your own crops, you will pick your food when it is ready and it will possess all the nutrients you need. You can find more landscaping tips online here.
In addition to all of these benefits is the utter satisfaction you can get from this, so go ahead and start growing your own fruit and vegetables today.
